About Mimic Party Online

Mimic Party Online is a free browser game built around a small loop: a clip plays, you copy it in one take, and the scorer tells you how close you were. This page explains who makes it and how it treats your voice.

The short version

What is Mimic Party Online?

A voice imitation game that runs entirely in your browser. Ten themed Sound Worlds hold around two hundred cues, from meme classics and cartoon stings to machine pings and animal calls. Each round plays one cue and scores your single take from 0 to 100. There is no download and no account.

ONE MIC

A voice game, not a quiz

Nothing is typed or tapped. You listen once, perform the sound in a single take, and the scorer compares the shape of your voice with the reference.

ONE DAY

A daily habit

Today's Stage deals the same six sounds to every player, seeded by the date. Clear three of six to keep your streak alive, and race the boards before the 8:00 AM Eastern reset.

ONE DEVICE

A local-first tool

Recording and scoring happen on your device. The microphone turns on when a round starts and off when it ends, and no audio leaves the browser.

Why we built Mimic Party Online

Voice imitation is the funniest thing a group of people can do with one microphone, and it usually dies in the setup. Someone has to run the rules and watch the clock, and that person never gets to play. We moved those jobs into the browser so nobody has to sit out, and so you can also just play alone.

A scorer that judges fairly

Most people assume a voice game measures how accurate your impression is. Ours does not even try. The scorer transposes your take into the reference's range before comparing shapes, so a deep voice can copy a squeaky clip, and a low bar points at the one thing to fix next take. When a recording is too quiet, too short, clipped, or buried in noise, the game refuses to guess and hands the same sound back for a free retry. We would rather refuse to guess than hand you a random number. The full pipeline is on the scoring page.

A stage everyone shares

Solo games feel better with company, so every day gets one stage. The date seeds the draw, which means every player who opens Today's Stage faces the same six sounds in the same order. Streaks and the daily boards turn a five minute habit into something you can compare with the person next to you, or on the other side of the planet. See how runs are listed on the leaderboard page.

Ten worlds instead of one library

Two hundred cues in one flat list is a chore. Ten themed Sound Worlds turn the library into a choice. Machine Room tightens every recording window, Wild Calls loosens them, and Meme Classics pays a bonus for takes of 75 or better.

Three ways in

The modes today

All three modes share the same loop. Pick the one that fits the time you have.

SURVIVAL

50 sounds, three Mic lives

The long run. A shuffled deck across all ten worlds and a clear target that climbs from 30 to 70 as you go deeper. A Bonus wheel shows up after every third round. Play Survival →

DAILY

Six shared sounds, one take each

Today's Stage, the same set for every player until the 8:00 AM Eastern reset, with safe, risk, and focus routes between rounds. Open Today's Stage →

QUICK

Four rounds, no pressure

Choose a world, set an optional goal contract, and see what the boost wheel does to the next round. No lives and no board, so a bad round costs nothing. Play Quick Play →

The promise

How we treat your voice

A game that listens should say exactly what it does with what it hears. Here is the whole arrangement. The microphone is requested only after you press record, and it turns off when the round ends. Your take is captured at 16 kHz mono, analyzed inside your browser, and released when the session ends. No voice audio is uploaded, stored, or shared, and the scorer never tries to identify who is speaking. Close the tab and the run is gone.

The only data that ever leaves your device is a finished Survival or Daily run, and it carries three things: your chosen name or a masked network address, your country, and your party points. Never audio. The leaderboard shows exactly what a listed run looks like.

Honest limits

What Mimic Party Online is not

NO VOICE ID

Not a voice identification tool

The scorer extracts four numerical features: an envelope, a pitch contour, onset positions, and band energies. It cannot recognize who you are, and it never tries.

NO LICENSE

Not affiliated with any rights holder

The cues reference well-known sounds and moments, and the names of those moments belong to their owners. Mimic Party Online is an independent tribute, not an official release or an endorsement of any kind.

NO ARCHIVE

Not a recording service

Nothing you record is archived. There is no history of your audio anywhere, so there is nothing to delete.

Common questions

FAQ

Who makes Mimic Party Online?

A small independent team of web audio and game tinkerers. We build and run it as a free browser game, and every part of the scoring pipeline runs on the player's own device.

Is Mimic Party Online really free?

Yes. Every mode is free, and there is no account or credits system. The ads shown around the game pay for it.

Do you keep my recordings?

No. Recording and scoring happen inside your browser, and the audio is released when the session ends. No voice audio is ever uploaded or stored.

Is this an official release?

No. Mimic Party Online is an independent browser game. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any brand, creator, or rights holder of the sounds and moments it references.

Which devices can play it?

Any modern desktop or mobile browser works. The game asks for microphone access only after you press record, and headphones keep the reference sound out of your takes.

Take the stage

Now go make a weird noise

That is the whole point. The score stays on your device, and the game is free with no account.
